How do you feel when you walk into the park?

​

I would like to share with you my wonderful experiences in Preston Rock Garden in Brighton over the past few months. It is said that the design of the rock garden is inspired by a traditional Chinese pattern - the willow pattern. As a Chinese, I have never heard of this pattern or the story behind it. With curiosity, I came to the park. I was looking for Chinese elements and gradually uncovering the story behind the pattern. Through this, I gained a deeper understanding of my own culture and found joy in exploring the differences between Chinese and Western culture. Here, I initiated a dialogue on the aesthetics of the East and the West.

Many traditional cultures and ways of thinking have subtly influenced me, but I have never carefully studied what they are. Some things have become so familiar that I take them for granted. The park is like a trigger, awakening my new perception of these things.
